Ramallah: Any Palestinian who sells Israeli products or promotes Israeli services will face economic isolation, the Palestinian National Authority has warned.

In support of a nation-wide campaign calling for the boycott of Israeli products, the Union of Palestinian Consumer Protection Associations (UPCPA) declared a grace period, which expires on September 15, giving Palestinian vendors a chance to rid their shops of all Israeli goods. The names of violators, in addition to being labelled as economic collaborators with Israel, will be made known to the Palestinian public thus negatively affecting their reputation in the community.

Official punishments will also be applied, although no details were given on what the punishments would be.

The UPCPA says that Israel has flooded the Palestinian market with its products, effectively killing entrepreneurship within the Palestinian economy.
