MVNO Select Communications signs Pelephone hosting deal

Select Communications has obtained a mobile operators permit from the Ministry of Communications.

New MVNO Select Communications Ltd. has signed an agreement with Pelephone Communications Ltd.to use its infrastructure, including air time, SMS and Internet access. Select Communications will have the prefix 055-70xxxxx, after obtaining a mobile operators permit from the Ministry of Communications.Pelephone CEO Gil Sharon said, “Pelephone is the first carrier which realized that offering hosting services can be a key growth engine, especially when revenue from subscribers is falling because of the intense competition in the industry. Roaming and MVNO services compensate for the loss of revenue caused by the drop in tariffs.”

Select Communications CEO Avner Porat said, “This agreement is important to Select, creating synergy between MVNO services and Select’s added value services for private and business customers. It enables us to expand our services to our customers through Pelephone’s technology and quality access.”
